Banana_elephant's first Music Monday!

Hello everyone, Banana_elephant here for my first Music Monday! I'll be taking care of everything Music Monday until the end of the month (-ish), and I'm really excited!
On Thursday I'm leaving to stay at my cousin's house, and they live between four and five hours away. A lot of times when I'm in the car for a long period of time I listen to music or read. Below I'll show you what I expect my playlist to look like going north and coming back down south.

North Playlist:
I'm actually really fond of Pop Music and Pop Culture, so whenever I'm excited or nervous (in this case, excited) that's the genre I listen to. Usually my playlist (I love making playlist for every situation, I just love music) includes artists such as BTR, 5th Harmony, a little 1D, and some good old (not really old, haha) 5 Seconds of Summer.
     -Miss Moving On, 5th Harmony
     -She Looks so Perfect, 5SoS
     -Worldwide, BTR
     -We Are, BTR
     -Story of My Life, 1D
     -What Makes You Beautiful, 1D
     -24/Seven, BTR
     -Elevate, BTR
     -Windows Down, BTR
     -Halfway There, BTR
     -Lift Your Spirit- Aloe Blacc
     -Mmm Yeah, Austin Mahone feat. Pitbull
     -Burn, Ellie Goulding
     -Stereo Hearts, Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine
     -People Like Us, Kelly Clarkson
     -Me and My Broken Heart, Rixon
     -Hall of Fame, The Script feat. will.i.am
     -Replay, Zendaya
     -Am I Wrong, Nico and Vinz
     -Say Something, A Great Big World feat. Christina Aguilera
     -Titanium, cover by Madilyn Baily
     -Keep Ur Eyes on Me, DWB
     -Eye of the Storm, Lovett
     -Every Time We Touch, Cascada

South Playlist:
I'm going to be real tired on the way home, so I'm going to listen to all instrumental music. I have an obsession with instrumental, and that's probably because I play quite a few instruments. One of my favorite things ever are TV show or movie theme songs.
     -Canon In D, Pachebel
     -Adagio in D Minor, John Murphy
     -Ben (National Treasure Theme), Trevor Rabin
     -I Am the Doctor, Murray Gold
     -Clara?, Murray Gold
     -The Long Song, Murray Gold
     -Amy in the Tardis, Murray Gold
     -The Face of Boe, Murray Gold
     -The Legend Begins, Audiomachine
     -Concerning Hobbits, Howard Shore
     -Neville the Hero, Alexandre Desplat
     -We Want Glory Freedom, Instrumental Core

     -Into the West, Howard Shore
     -Vesper, David Arnold and Nicholas Dodd
     -With Love, Vincent, Murray Gold
     -Doomsday, Murray Gold

Well, that's all for now I guess. I suggest you listen to some or all of these songs, they're some of my favorites.  Who knows what my subject will be next week, so goodbye for now!

Banana_elephant's last Fandom Friday!

Hey everyone, it's Banana_elephant again! Heh, it feels like I always start my post like this. Anyways, this week I'll be talking about my favorite TV show, Doctor Who.
As you may know, Doctor Who had it's fiftieth year anniversary last November. Yes, even though the series started in 1963,  they're still making new episodes. The reason they can do this is because the Doctor, the main character of the series, can regenerate and thus a new actor takes on the role.
Last Christmas we said goodbye to the eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, and hello to Doctor number twelve, Peter Capaldi.
Matt Smith is by far my favorite Doctor. Like just about everyone else, this is because he was my first Doctor, seeing how I had just discovered this amazing series right before the anniversary. He was energetic, funny, brave, and a very deep Doctor. I really enjoyed every moment of his role as the Doctor, he played him so well. He made bow ties and fezzes cool, and now they will always be cool because of our timeless hero.
I can't say that I'm not excited to see Peter as the new Doctor. I know he'll be awesome, just because of the few moments we saw of him last Christmas. In August he'll have his debut and we'll get to know about this new face of the Doctor.
One of the most important things about our Doctor and his adventures are his companions. My favorite companion is Rory Williams (sometimes called Rory Pond). Seriously, you have to give the guy credit for dying but not dying so many times. Ah Rory, you amuse me.
One of the greatest things about the Doctor is that his choice of weapon isn't really a weapon. It's a sonic screwdriver, so he fixes things that go wrong. He helps people, and he tries to not hurt anyone (except for maybe a few Daleks and Cybermen). Although this hilarious tool doesn't work on wood, it can do a lot of things. Ah, how I'll miss Matt's sonic so very much.
By far my favorite villain would be the Daleks. I mean seriously, those things are hilarious, no matter how dangerous they are. With a whisk and plunger sticking out of their bodies, you'd think they'd be harmless. Actually, those two things shoot lasers, so beware.
I'd have to say my favorite episode of Doctor Who would be either the Time of the Doctor or The Eleventh Hour. They both crack me up, and I've watched both multiple times now. I can't even explain how much I love these, they're just so awesome.

Well, I'll see you guys again on Monday for my first Music Monday. I hope you've enjoyed my posts for our first round of Fandom Friday!

Music Mondays With not_luna_lovegood #4

Hello, welcome to Music Mondays with not_luna_lovegood! This is my last post for Music Mondays for awhile. Next time I have Music Mondays will be all the way in November! So I thought I would do a reflection of my first month with the Brick Wall. But first, since this IS Music Mondays after all, I am going to count down the top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of June 28. 2014 and then I will do my reflection. Here is a link to the Billboard website where I get this information, and it also has links so you can listen, watch the videos for, and buy the songs.)

10. "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith (Same as last week. Last Week: 10. Peak on Chart: 10. Weeks on Chart: 10.)

9. "Summer" by Calvin Harris (Same as last week. Last Week: 9. Peak on Chart: 9. Weeks on Chart: 13.)

8. "Happy" by Pharrell Williams (Down 2 spots. Last Week: 6. Peak on Chart: 1. Weeks on Chart: 24.)

7. "Am I Wrong?" by Nico & Vinz (Up 1 spot. Last Week: 8. Peak on Chart: 6. Weeks on Chart: 9.)

6. "Turn Down For What" by DJ Snake & Lil Jon (Down 2 spots. Last Week: 4. Peak on Chart: 4. Weeks on Chart: 25.)

5. "Wiggle" by Jason Derulo ft. Snoop Dogg (Same as last week. Last Week: 5. Peak on Chart: 5. Weeks on Chart: 7.)

4. "All Of Me" by John Legend (Down 1 spot. Last Week: 3. Peak on Chart: 1. Weeks on Chart: 36.)

3. "Rude" by MAGIC! (Up 4 spots. Last Week: 7. Peak on Chart: 3. Weeks on Chart: 8.)

2. "Problem" by Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea (Same as last week. Last Week: 2. Peak on Chart: 2. Weeks on Chart: 7.)

1. "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX (Same as last week. Last Week: 1. Peak on Chart: 1. Weeks on Chart: 15.)

So there you have it. There are no new entries to the top 10, the songs are the same songs from last week but in a different order. Now, time for my reflection on the blog!

~~~~~~~
It's my first month with the Brick Wall, and so far, I couldn't have been prouder with how everyone is doing, well, everyone except for me. Quidditch_Turtle, CHUCKLES, and Banana_elephant have been doing great with writing the articles that people want to read. As I write this, the Brick Wall is at 815 and counting page views, and that's just incredible to me, that people around the world are reading what my best friends and I have to say about the world we live in. I thank everyone who has supported the blog simply by just clicking on it! We appreciate every single one of our visitors!
But what about myself? At first, I thought I was doing a pretty good job, but then there was last week's edition of Music Mondays...and, well, I don't wanna talk about it...so just look at that post to see what I mean. But other than that, I think I'm doing alright for my first month. I hope to improve as the months go on and on.
The most important lesson I learned from my experience on the blog is to stay positive! Nobody wants to read about somebody who's constantly negative, they want to read something happier.
If I were to give some tips to somebody who wants to start their own blog, these would be my top five:
1. BE YOURSELF!!!!! Don't make up a new personality for yourself just to get popular. We changed our names at the Brick Wall because we don't want people to stalk us, but we're still the same people online as we are in reality. Being yourself is the most important thing to remember on the Internet.
2. Get a friend/multiple friends to co-own your blog! Whether it's 1, 100, or any number in between, I think it's a great idea to get others' help. They can give advice, help you come up with ideas, and you have less work to do, which is a big plus if you're really lazy. It also brings you closer with your friends. I wouldn't be half as close with my friends if we hadn't started the Brick Wall.
3. Try to talk about topics you know people like and/or interested in. If a lot of people you know enjoy reading, make a column about books! You'll get more visitors on your site that way,
4. Listen to your visitors' opinions. I'm not saying to let your fans dictate everything you say and do on the blog, but at least notify what your audience is saying!
5. Spread the word about your site- both online and off. We're living in a time where people are always on the Internet, so people will always want to know about cool sites to check out!
So there you have it: my last Music Mondays post until November! Next week, I'll be at Travel Tuesdays with a very fun and interesting story about our trip to a local amusement park! See you there!
Banana_elephant here again! Fandom Friday!
Hey, Banana_elephant here! Last week I did my Fandom Friday on the book Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. Today the subject I'll be discussing is the TV show House of Anubis that used to air on Teen Nick.
Warning: this post is not spoiler free!
I haven't seen any of season one, but I've seen almost the entire season two. The first time I actually got into watching it was a few weeks ago when the weekend marathon on Teen Nick was House of Anubis. Like any show you start watching after missing a few episodes, I was confused for a bit. What I really liked about it though was it didn't take me long to get what was going on. Here's my take on some of the characters (most of them really).
I think one of the first episodes I saw was when Mick (I think that's how you spell his name) left to go to Australia or something. Honestly I didn't like his character's attitude in the first place, but I felt bad for Mara.
I don't know why Mara and Joy were fighting (or was that Joy and Patrica...) but for almost the whole season Joy was such a jerk! The whole blog situation with Jack Jackal just made me so mad at Joy. When she posted the mean post about Nina she kinda deserved what she got.
When it comes to Jerome, I was so confused on whether he was a good guy or not. His character development was good and all, I just didn't get it because I hadn't been there for very long. Personally I think producers should make a character less complicated for newbies.
Even after the last episode of season three (The Touchstone of Ra) I didn't get what was going on between Patricia and Eddie. Even still re-watching the episode I'm still really confused. Relationship problems!
Amber was always making so many problems for the Sibunas. Whenever she was supposed to be quiet, she wasn't! Although her denseness was pretty funny sometimes, it still got to me. Especially in season two when she forgot to lock the closest, so Rufus got the dollhouse. That was what got me really mad at her.
Oh Alfie, he was hilarious. When the newbies came in The Touchstone of Ra and he dropped his marshmallow thing I was ROTFL. He was one of the more useful characters to the Sibunas if you ask me.
I really don't have much to say about Mara. I mean, she was a great character, but it wasn't like she's an annoying character either. She was that really nice character that just needs more credit.
Victor wad s very interesting character. If you know Doctor Who, he kinda looks like the War Doctor to me, because I'm a Whovian for life. Anyways, I just thought it was the funniest thing whenever he'd talk to that crow. I know that there's probably a story behind that, but I just don't know it. I really liked him when in season two he left the reflectors for the Sibunas to find. I'd always known he wasn't a bad character at all. To be honest, I cried a bit in The Touchstone of Ra when he left The House of Anubis. I also thought it was funny when he took his crow along.
Now I come to Nina. Even though she was the main character, she wasn't my favorite. I don't know why, I just wasn't a big fan. Like Mara, I don't have to to say about this character. I mean it was very brave at the end of season two when she could have died. Really though, we all knew she would do it, she's the main character.
Fabian, oh Fabian. Easily my favorite character, he was so much like a character from a story I'm in the middle of, I just fell in love with him. It's crazy how much they have in common. Throughout the second season, I totally shipped Nina and Fabian. I fangirled hilariously when they finally kissed haha. Really though, how insecure he was when Nina was trapped under the board just gave me the feels. When it came to The Touchstone of Ra and he and Mara kissed, I honestly was more okay with that than I'd thought I would be. Overall, I just love Fabian, everything about him. I even really like his name. Fabian, it's got a nice exotic ring to it.
Now let's talk about season three.
I was so mad when I found out Nina was no longer in the show. Her being a big part of the Sibunas, I just don't feel like watching season three. If I'm correct, Amber also left during season three, as I noticed in The Touchstone of Ra. That just crossed the line for me, even though I don't even like Amber as much as I like Nina. I still don't know if I should watch it or not, but I might.
I don't think I was the only one who noticed this, but this made me laugh for some reason. When the Anubis House was graduating, I saw that one of the Houses was named Hathor House. I laughed because seriously? I think it would be hilarious for some reason if they made a spinoff series about the other Houses, particularly Hathor House.
Hey, CHUCKLES here! Today my subject is... *drumroll*... The Goonies! For those of you who don't what The Goonies is go look it up. Originally this was going to be my first post, but the bio and Fleetwood Mac pushed it back.
The Goonies is my favorite movie (next to Maleficent of course) of all time. My favorite thing about this movie is the fact that it is a decent funny movie. Mostly because the different types of people in this movie. There is the bad boy, Mouth, the smart kid, Data, the adventurous one, Mikey. The big brother, Brand, the popular girl, Andy, the kid that always is eating, Chunk, and the nerdy girl, Stef.
My favorite character is Chunk. Do the Truffle Shuffle!
Anyways on to the more serious stuff (not really). This movie was made in 1985. It was released on June 7, 1985.
Here are some quotes from the Goonies:
Mouth: [examining coins in the well] President Lincoln... George Washington... Martin Sheen...
Stef: Martin Sheen? That's President Kennedy, you idiot!
Mouth: Well, same difference. I mean, he played Kennedy once.
[the Fratellis are interrogating Chunk]
Francis Fratelli: Tell us everything! Everything!
Chunk: Everything. OK! I'll talk! In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog... When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out... But the worst thing I ever done - I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa - and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.
Jake Fratelli: I'm beginning to like this kid, Ma!
Mama Fratelli: [tired of Chunk's stalling] Hit puree!
These are two of the funniest parts of the movie.
Sorry guys, that my post is short today and really late. So you guys tell my what you think of this movie in the comments below. Bye and see ya'll next week!
Quidditch_Turtle for Whatever Wednesdays!
Hey guys! Quidditch_Turtle here, and this week, I will be taking up a pretty well-debated topic-
Selfies.
Personally, I think that selfies are kind of annoying, and even though I don't have an Instagram or anything like that, I know from looking at my sister's. I also have noticed that girls are in most selfies. I guess boys are just "too cool" for their face to be in a picture (no offense, Mr. Rainbow, I'm talking about guys who like trucks and country music and things like that). Some girls can look really pretty in them, if they don't make a really fake smile. That's another really annoying thing.
Lately, people have been taking selfies with their faces half way out of the actual photo and their arms stretched way out. I mean, the whole point of a picture is to capture the beauty of something, and clearly, that is not happening. And really, people are like "Oh, your eyes are so pretty" when the person uses a really heavy filter that messes up their whole face and the colors of it. Another thing that bothers me is when people put the caption as something like this- "It doesn't matter what other people say about how you look, because your beautiful on the inside and out-" when they take a really good picture of themselves and use a filter to make them look even better. That's really just saying "It doesn't matter what other people say about how you look, because your beautiful on the inside and out- but I'm already pretty on the outside, so that part doesn't apply to me." Seriously?
I don't know about you, but it's really aggravating when people take selfies EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF THE DAY. We honestly don't need to know what you look like all the time. I'd really like to know what those people do in their spare time if they take a million selfies a second on a regular basis. If my kid was doing that, I would take their phone or iPod or whatever away for like a month and watch them suffer... MWA HA HA!!!!
Whenever I try to take a selfie, I always get embarrassed. Even my sister doesn't like when I look at her while she's trying to take a good selfie. I guess I'm just not that kind of material, you know? I'd rather take pictures of the things around me instead of being selfish and snotty and taking a picture of myself, and on top of that adding a filter to make my face look all demented. I mean, the word "selfie" has the word "self" right inside of it!
So, as you can see, Quidditch_Turtle is not a big fan of selfies, and I apologize if I hurt any of the viewer's feelings. They're just over-rated and I needed to address my opinion. I am okay with selfies if you take one with another person or people, or if you want to get something in the backround, but those are really the only circumstances when they don't irritate me. Well, this is Quidditch_Turtle, signing out until next week!
P.S: Don't even get me started with that stupid song!!! (Sorry Mr. Rainbow...)
More to come for Travel Tuesday... Silly Quidditch_Turtle mistake...
Welcome to a Special Travel Tuesday Post with Banana_elephant, CHUCKLES, Quidditch_Turtle, and our special guest host, Guest #6! Seeing how Mr. Rainbow hasn't posted in awhile, we'll do it for him.
Last night we all got in the car and traveled long and far through the countryside to get to a place with neon lights and flying dragons. A giant fairie poster was seen anywhere you went. It took us all of twenty minutes and a few seconds to arrive!
On the way there, with CHUCKLES in the front and the rest of us in the back, it was quite the adventure. Three of us stuffed into the back, whenever we'd go around a corner, Banana_elephant would always fall onto either Quidditch_Turtle or Guest #6.
It was a very close and unforgetable ride.
Thank you CHUCKLES for leaving us in the back to perish together in a very close siuation.
Music Mondays With not_luna_lovegood #3 *Update 6-18-14*
Hello, it's me, not_luna_lovegood. I don't know if you saw my latest post, but it was me ranting about what I felt was the worst song of the year, #selfie. And now that I look back at that post, I realize that it was just an overall terrible post, and I regret it. I was really, and I mean REALLY harsh, negative, in a few parts, racist, and just overall really rude. I also looked at Quidditch_Turtle's post on selfies and completely spoiled it. I just feel awful about that, and I really should have let my audience have to wait to see what it was. Here are two excerpts from the post:
"I have literally no idea what to post...*goes and looks at Quidditch_Turtle's post for the next Whatever Wednesdays* GOT IT!"
and:
"I didn't tell you what Quidditch_Turtle's next article is about on purpose. You'll have to wait until Wednesday to see, if you couldn't guess already!"
After realizing what I had done, I've decided to do the right thing and...HASTA LA VISTA, RUDE, TERRIBLE POST! You shall be gone forever!
So I'm going back to what I was originally going to do, count down the Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100! Here is a link to the Billboard website, which is my source for this information and where you can listen to and buy the songs!
1. "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX (Same. Last Week: 1. Peak on Chart: 1. Weeks on Chart: 14.)
I don't really have any comments on the songs. I don't know, but it seems like pop music has been getting kinda boring and repetitive lately. It seems like all the songs are either about love, partying, or inappropriate stuff which I will not mention because we like to keep things appropriate at the Brick Wall. I miss the days when pop music was more interesting.
Sorry for being harsh and rude in my original post, and I promise nothing like that will ever happen again!
Fandom Friday with Banana_elephant!
Hey everyone, Banana_elephant here, and happy Friday the Thirteenth! I hope you haven’t forgotten me, because it’s only been a week (hahaha). Anyways, you know I’m here today for Fandom Fridays, and as I said last week, I’ll be talking about the book Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.
First of all, the book was amazing! I liked it so much I actually got my codename, Banana_elephant, from it (if you've read it, you'll get it). The situation was actually pretty real, unlike some realistic fiction I’ve read in the past. Seriously though, the characters were just perfect, just as real a the storyline/plot. Anna seemed the most realistic to me, and our dear Etienne was just so realistically a boy.
Okay, here’s a warning, the rest isn’t so spoiler free, so read at your own risk.
Anna was also kinda dense when she fell for who-and-a-what-now (I can’t even remember his name, THE WAY IT SHOULD BE BY THE WAY, you know, because he's a jerkface), I was actually really mad at Anna. Honestly, I didn’t see at all what was so great about him, but you know.
Her father and Etienne’s father were both jerks, and I couldn't stand them for the whole book. Seriously, whenever they were mentioned, I sorta inwardly groaned. And her friend was an absolute jerk not telling Anna about her new boyfriend, but Anna did it right back, and I was then angry at her too. Basically, everyone at that point looked like a Giant Squid of Anger (Nerdfighter thing, look it up).
Everything I’ve said so far makes it seem like I hated the characters hahaha.
Okay, to be honest, for the whole time I really only cared about my Etienne, and that was sorta terrible. Even though he was so perfect and so boyish, he was so real. That was probably my favorite thing about him. And I know Anna fell for him as soon as she saw him, but it was the same for Etienne when it came to her. The only thing different when it came to this was that he fell way harder for her than Anna did, as we found out later. This is when I really knew that I liked Stephanie as an author, because it seemed like she really understood this sort of thing. It may be the guy that falls hardest instead of the girl.
Okay, I promise I’m done with the spoilers. To those who haven’t read this book, READ IT. To those who have read it, REMEMBER IT. This book really is amazing, so maybe you should read it more than once. Even if you’re a guy, I think you should go right ahead and read it. Think about what I said people, and see you next Friday!
Hey, CHUCKLES here. My mom recently introduced me to the band Fleetwood Mac. They were founded in 1967. But the main singer in the group, Stevie Nicks, had quit and gone solo in 1981.
So the deal about this whole article is I will be listening to the Fleetwood Mac CD Rumours and review each song.
1. Second Hand News:  I like how upbeat and fun this song is and you can understand what they are saying! 4 Stars
2. Dreams: The song itself is slow and peaceful, over all a very good song. It's also a favorite of mine and my moms. 4 1/2 Stars
3. Never Going Back Again: Love this song because of the lyrics it seems as if they want you to keep moving on even when things go wrong.I want Banana_Elephant to learn it on guitar. 5 Stars
4. Don't Stop: I like how the song tells you that if one day is bad just turn it around tomorrow. Or turn that frown upside-down! 3 1/2 Stars
5. Go Your Own Way: This isn't the best song I have ever heard and it's not the worst. But it is probably the one that has the most resemblance to todays music. 3 Stars
6. Songbird: I was a quarter of the way into the song and I stopped listening. It was just about as interesting as the 7 minute long classical music that our elementary music teacher made us listen to so we could identify the instruments. : P 1Star
7. The Chain: I didn't really understand the lyrics but it was good. 31/2 Stars
8. You Make Loving Fun: I don't think it is the best song. 3 Stars
9. I Don't Want To Know: Is pretty much about following your heart. Not my fave. 2 Stars
10. Oh Daddy: I feel as if the song had no volume. The pace and tone was the same all the way through. 2 Stars
11. Gold Dust Woman: The song itself I think was about friendship. Also NO VOLUME. 3 Stars
That's all for this week. Tell me what you think about this band in the comments below. See you guys next week. I'm gonna be a year older next time I see you!
Whatever Wednesday with Quidditch_Turtle
Hey fans! It's my first Whatever Wednesday post, so bear with me if it's not the best... But hopefully you'll like it!
Last week, I told you about the comic about a potato named Tarl that Banana_elephant, CHUCKLES, and I created in our spare time. Here are some examples of some of them, but we do have more. The marriage of Tarl involves a peanut (don't ask) and the comics tell the stories of the adventures they encounter together. We would like everyone to know that we own absolutely NO part of Voldemort or the Harry Potter book/movie series, and give all credit to J.K. Rowling, the creator. Tarl is based on a character in a book that CHUCKLES was reading, but we did not copy the exact character, so we did not commit piracy! Hope you enjoy!
Music Mondays with not_luna_lovegood #2
Hello, welcome to Music Mondays with not_luna_lovegood! This week, I was originally going to talk about what I thought the song of the summer would be, but I didn't have enough time to do that. So I'm going to tell you about what some of my LEAST favorite types of music are. You already know from my previous post that pop music is my favorite, but what about the songs, genres, and artists I don't like? That's what I'll talk about today.
First of all, I really, really don't like modern-day country music. You know, where they constantly talk about the same things: girls, trucks/tractors, and alcohol and all the guys sound the same. I hate it! It's so repetitive and as I said before, all the guys sound the same! I mean, how am I supposed to tell the difference between, say, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean? I found this video a while ago (I believe it was on the YouTube homepage one time) and it explains pretty much why I hate country music. The link is below.
I also dislike most current rap music. Most rap music has too much explicit language, but that's not the main reason I hate it. I don't like rap music because, like country music, it's too repetitive on topics! Rappers always talk about the same things: girls, cars, money, alcohol, and doing drugs. It's really annoying and a bad influence on today's youth. Also, a lot of rappers today have the auto-tune turned up so high they don't even sound human! So that explains why I hate rap music.
I feel so mean now! I don't like being so hateful, but these are just my opinions. It's okay if you disagree with me, you have a right to your opinion and I have mine. So there you go.
thank you for staying with me another week!
Banana_elephant for Fandom Friday
Hey everybody, Banana_elephant here! This is my first post here for Fandom Fridays, although I'll just be introducing myself. For the first month (so that would be June) I will be posting under Fandom Fridays, just for a FYI reference. Now, before I type so much your computer implodes and creates a black hole (what...) I'll just get on with a few facts about me.
1.) I can get really awfully wordy when I write, so I apologize right now about any future annoyance with that. Already you can probably tell that about me, so I'll just move on.
2.) I really LOVE the book Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. There's a character who's nickname is Banana Elephant, so I think you can now figure out where I got my username. FYI, next week for Fandom Friday I will be doing my post on the book, so watch out for that.
3.) Like Quidditch_Turtle, I write. In fact, right now I'm working on a steampunk/sorta cyberpunk novel about an evil governor who turns just about everyone else in the government into a robot. Yeah, saying it like that...
4.) I have a cat named Perseus who likes to shed on everyone and everything, which is just great. I love her a lot, but I could do without the hair.
5.) I LOVE reading, and I spend a lot of time doing that. My favorite book is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (which I will be seeing!!!!!), but what I really love to read is steampunk. The whole concept of it is just really interesting. If you know any good ones, tell me about them.
6.) I will now make these shorter because of fact number uno. Like, seriously.
7.) I try really hard, but I simply cannot choose a favorite color.
8.) I also love Harry Potter, even though i have only read one book. Fangirls, hold it up, but I have seen all of the movies. No, i do not need a hard time about it, I get enough of that from my friends. Yes, I plan on reading the rest.
9.) These facts are not getting any shorter. Wait, this one is short.
10.) Like the rest of us, I will not be answering any personal questions. You have already got the whole yada yada about that earlier, so therefore I will spare you.
Okay, thank you if you made it to the end. See ya'll next Friday for Fandom Friday, can't wait!
Thursday, June 5, 2014
Hey, CHUCKLES here! I will be doing throwback Thursdays for this month. As Quidditch_Turtle has told you we will be telling you readers about ourselves. Here we go!
1. First and foremost: I'm crazy... just like my parents... and in a good way of course.
2. I'm a four year Harry Potter fan and a blooming Doctor Who fan.
3. I have an awesome cabin that is filled with modern decorations and antique items.
4. And along with my cabin, I have a Teepee and a tree house with electricity (and no, I am not fibbing either, if you still don't believe me just ask Banana_Elephant and Quidditch_Turtle, they have both been there.)
5. My favorite classes in school (which just got out today ;D) is Spanish and Band.
6. I play the Tuba and the Native American Flute.
7. My codename has absolutely nothing to do with clowns, it is my moms nickname for me.
And that's me in a nut shell. Any questions or comments just ask! But not any personal ones. See you guys next week!
Possible BWB Podcast?
Hello, it's not_luna_lovegood and I'm here with some news! So, the other day, I was talking with the other Brick Wall Bloggers, and we were discussing which social network and stuff each of us would be in charge of. Banana_Elephant is in charge of our Instagram (brick_wall_bloggers), CHUCKLES is in charge of our Pinterest (TheFabulosoFive :)), Mr. Rainbow is in charge of our Facebook, which doesn't exist yet, and Quidditch_Turtle is in charge of the general Brick Wall site. We couldn't think of something for me to be in charge of, and then we decided for me to maybe be in charge of a podcast! It would be hosted by me every Sunday (just audio, no video since we refuse to show our faces, which really sucks since I hate how my voice sounds) and I would answer fan questions and give updates on how the blog is doing. What do you think, should I start the podcast or not? Please give feedback!
You have arrived at Travel Tuesdays, where you get info on places all around the globe. Some are random places, and some are our own family vacations that we share.
This is Mr. Rainbow and I will love Travel Tuesday because later in life I want to travel around the world. This whole month I will be doing Travel Tuesday and every month we change days so next month I will be doing Whatever Wednesday.
This week I am going to talk about Mt.Rushmore. Mount Rushmore National Memorial, located 25 miles southwest of Rapid City, is an awe-inspiring experience and a “must-see” on your vacation. The faces of four American presidents—George WashingtonThomas JeffersonTheodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln—are carved from a granite mountainside high above the treetops of the Black Hills. Carving took 14 years to complete and cost $1 million, but this Shrine of Democracy is priceless to all Americans.
Music Mondays with not_luna_lovegood #1
Hello, you've reached Music Mondays! I'm not_luna_lovegood, and I'll be here to tell you all about music and stuff during the month of June! When June is over, I'll be moving to Travel Tuesdays and Banana_Elephant will be doing Music Mondays! Since this is my first entry on the blog, I thought I would take some time to introduce myself to y'all!
First of all, I am NOT the character Luna Lovegood from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, nor do I know her at all. But I can assure you that if I did know her, we would totally be BFFs! Just wanted to get that out there, haha. I don't know how I came up with my username, I was just sitting there in health class and it just came to me.
So anyway, I'm gonna list some random facts about me in an attempt to introduce myself.
1. I am a die-hard Harry Potter fan. Mention Harry Potter around me and I will start screaming and fangirling because I love it so much. #potterheadandproud
2. I love music! I play clarinet in school band, piano, and I'm going to learn guitar this summer. My favorite genre of music is pop, which is what we talk about on Music Mondays.
3. I refuse to answer any and all personal questions (my real name, age, address, school, etc.) and comments (I think I know you, I know what your personal Instagram is, etc.). I'm terrified of stalkers. Don't even bother posting personal questions and/or comments because they won't show up.
4. The idea for the Brick Wall first started about a month or two ago, but it wasn't until about a week ago that the idea became a reality. We were just talking at lunch and saying the randomest things when we thought, "Hey, why don't we start a blog about us saying random things?" And finally, after waiting for around a month, Quidditch_Turtle finally started the blog!
5. We came up with the name "The Brick Wall" because of the brick wall near the table we sit at in our school cafeteria. One of the bricks has a piece of masking tape that says "Brick" taped on it. And that's sort of how we came up with the name.
6. I'm not just a grammar Nazi, I consider myself Grammar Hitler. Seriously! Use the wrong "there" in a sentence (We saw the train sitting their as opposed to We saw the train sitting there) or something like that and I will start raging madly.
7. I love to read and write. Besides Harry Potter, my favorite series are Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Divergent, and The Hunger Games. Right now, I'm writing a story and I'm not really sure how to explain what it's about. I might publish it on another website when it's done.
8. I'm a big fan of Disney movies. I love them all, but I'd say my favorite is Finding Nemo (which is actually made by Pixar but I count it as a Disney movie). Finding Nemo is my favorite movie of all time!
9. My favorite color is blue because if I were a student at Hogwarts (school in the Harry Potter series, in case you didn't know that, but you probably do) I would be in Ravenclaw House, and if I were in one of the factions from the Divergent series, I would be in Erudite. Coincidentally, both Ravenclaw and Erudite have blue for their representing color!
10. I would love to be a famous singer, but I sound like a dying cow when I sing, so that will never happen!
So that’s just a little bit about me. I hope you enjoy our blog!
