Fandom Friday Featuring Quidditch_Turtle

Hey guys, Quidditch_Turtle here. Right now, my mind is absolutely blank. *after a couple of days thinking time* Okay nevermind, I take that back! I shall write about... Gahhhh! I have no idea. Fandom Friday is really not my best friend right now. Hang on a second, I just came up with a really good idea!

I'm a pretty big fan of the Harry Potter series, and I am reading the last book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) right now, so I think I know enough about the series to write what I'm going to write about this week. This week, I will be listing some Harry Potter vocab and explaining it to everyone who may not be as big of a fan as we (meaning everyone here at the Brick Wall) are, sort of like a Harry Potter dictionary. Here goes nothing!

Apparate: A way of magical traveling in which a witch or wizard of age (17 or older) suddenly disappears and reappears somewhere else.

Azkaban: The Wizarding prison for the most notorious Dark Wizards. Azkaban is guarded by the lifeless, soul-sucking Dementors (see below).

Boggart: A shape-shifting creature that turns into your worst fear. To defeat a boggart, say "Riddikulus," and the boggart will turn into something silly.

The Burrow: The Weasley family household.

The Dark Mark: The symbol of dedication given to Death Eaters when they swear to follow Lord Voldemort. Death Eaters can cast the Dark Mark into the sky to gather all others to a certain place. The Dark Mark also glows and burns when this happens.

Death Eaters: Voldemort's closest followers, and minions, to say the least

Dementor: A bony, lifeless creature who sucks your soul out of you when you are attacked. Dementors are repelled by the Patronus curse. The best remedy for a Dementor attack is chocolate. The Ministry uses Dementors to guard Azkaban (see above).

Gryffindor: A house of Hogwarts founded by Godric Gryffindor. Students in this house possess courage and bravery. The official animal of Gryffindor is a lion.

Half-blood: Someone whose mother is a witch and their father is not, or the other way around.

Hogwarts: A school of Witchcraft and Wizardry located in Great Britain.

Horcrux: An object in which a wizard chooses to place a piece of his soul. Splitting your soul, even in half, is extremely painful, and in Voldemort's case, he split his into seven. This action makes it harder to kill the witch or wizard.

House Elf: A small, skinny creature who is owned by a wizard family. They are treated like slaves, but don't mind at all. The only way a house elf is granted freedom from working is when its master (the leader of the family household) presents the house elf with an article of clothing.

Hufflepuff: A house of Hogwarts founded by Helga Hufflepuff. Students in this house possess loyalty and are willing to work hard. The official animal of Hufflepuff is a badger.

Muggle: Someone who's mother and father are not wizards and do not possess any magical qualities.

The Ministry of Magic: It's pretty much the government of the Wizarding World.

The Mirror of Erised: An enchanted mirror that, when looked into, shows you your greatest desires in life. When Harry looked into the mirror, he saw his parents standing on either side of him.

Portkey: An object that someone touches and, at the scheduled time, brings them somewhere else.

Pure-Blood: Someone whose parents are both wizards

Quidditch: A magical sport that is played in the air on broomsticks. The object of the game is to get more points than the other team. A team scores 10 points when the Chaser (one of the four playing positions) throws the quaffle (one of the three balls used in the game) past the Keeper (another position) into one of three hoops of different heights. A team scores 150 points when the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch (a small, gold ball that flies around the arena) and the game ends. However, there are also Bludgers (heavy black balls that fly around) that can knock you off your broom in mid-air. But luckily there are two Beaters who hit the Bludgers away from their team with bats.

Ravenclaw: A house in Hogwarts founded by Rowena Ravenclaw. The students in this house possess intellegence and knowledge. The official animal of Ravenclaw is an eagle.

Slytherin: A house in Hogwarts founded by Salazar Slytherin. Students in this house are resourceful and clever. The official animal of Slytherin is a serpent.

Squib: A pure-blood who possesses no magical qualities

Well, I hope some of these answered any questions that anyone had. If not, READ THE BOOKS! You can never go wrong by reading the books. Movies, however... Ha! Don't even get me started with the movies! Most of them were just soo off from the books, it wasn't even funny. Anyone else want to add to that in the comments? Anyway, this was my last Fandom Friday for a while, but I'll see you next week at Music Monday! Woo Hoo!

Whatever Wednesday with not_luna_lovegood #4

Hello, it's me, not_luna_lovegood (aka Looney) and welcome to Whatever Wednesday! I can't believe that the next time I will have Whatever Wednesday will be all the way in 2015 (January, to be exact). I don't know about you, but I feel like August has flown by really quickly. It feels like I just started Whatever Wednesday, and I'm already at my last week! Next week, I'm going to Throwback Thursday, and let me tell you, I am quite excited because I have a lot of ideas for that segment.

For my last Whatever Wednesday post for a while, I'm going to talk about my favorite YouTubers. As you may already know, I am completely obsessed with YouTube and spend far too much time watching my favorite videos. So today I'm going to talk about my favorite YouTubers, write a little bit about why I love their channel, and leave links to their channel(s) and my favorite videos of theirs.

My #1 favorite YouTuber...well, actually YouTubers, are Benny and Rafi Fine, aka The Fine Brothers! I first found out about them when Gangnam Style was super-popular (Fall 2012, I think). We would always play the video and my three-year-old brother (one-year-old at the time) would dance to it. So one day when I was getting the video for him to dance to, I decided to scroll down just out of curiosity. I found the "Teens React to Gangnam Style" video and I thought, Well, that sounds pretty interesting. So I watched it, loved it, and decided to watch even more React videos. And ever since that life-changing (more or less) day, I've became a member of the Fine Family. I love the React series because I love to see what the Kids, Teens, Elders, and YouTubers have to say about various things in today's world. I may not always agree with what they have to say, but I'm always entertained. I also love the online sitcom created by the Fine brothers, MyMusic, because it's such a creative, funny show! I'm always going to be a member of the Fine Family!

Their main channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheFineBros
Their second channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheFineBros2
MyMusic: https://www.youtube.com/user/MyMusicShow
The React channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/React
My favorite video they've done: Kids React to Controversial Cheerios Commercial (I love this episode because I am completely against racism and agreed with everything the kids said. I almost cried while watching because it gave me hope for this generation.)

Another one of my favorite series on YouTube shouldn't be a surprise to you because by now, you should know about my passion for Harry Potter, but that doesn't matter. The point is that I love Potter Puppet Pals! I found out about this hilarious series through my Brick Wall friends, who were singing the Mysterious Ticking Noise song at lunch, and I was just like, "What the heck is that from?" And they explained to me that it was from Potter Puppet Pals, which I had heard of, but had not seen before. So I checked it out, and I became obsessed! I've seen all of the episodes and I've laughed my head off at every single one. If you love Harry Potter, you need to watch this wonderful, hilarious series!

The channel with a bunch of the older episodes: https://www.youtube.com/user/NeilCicierega/
The official Potter Puppet Pals channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/potterpuppetpals
My favorite video they've done: Potter Puppet Pals: Snape's Diary (This is one of my all-time favorite YouTube videos. I always laugh my head off when I watch it.)

One thing you may not know about me is that I love a good parody, but unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of those on YouTube. A lot of the parodies I've found on YouTube are TOTALLY offensive and really disrespectful to the artist of the original song and their fans. But then, one day, I found Josh Chomik (aka thecomputernerd01) and I found parodies that are light-hearted, inoffensive, but most importantly,  funny! Josh's parodies are incredibly random, but I love randomness so I consider that a good thing. He almost always makes me laugh (the only parody of his I didn't really like was the #SELFIE parody) and his ideas are so creative and different from the rest of the people making parodies on YouTube.

His main channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/thecomputernerd01
His backup channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/JoshRocksGuitarHero
His iPhone channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/iDigTheMullet
My favorite video he's done: Party Rock Anthem- LMFAO Parody ( FROOT Loops  (I had a really hard time picking a favorite parody, but the rap in this one is so freaking perfect!)

Last, but not least, of my favorite YouTubers is Jon Cozart (aka Paint)! I found out about him when the Fine Brothers showed his one of his videos, After Ever After, on Teens React. I watched it, loved it, decided to check out his other videos, and was not disappointed! Jon is so talented and his songs are always hilarious! I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
Links:
His channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Paint
My favorite video he's done: Harry Potter in 99 Seconds (Again, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so this isn't much of a surprise. I sing this song all the time at lunch with CHUCKLES, Quidditch_Turtle, and Banana_Elephant.)

Those are my favorite YouTubers, go check them out if you haven't already! I'm not_luna_lovegood (aka Looney) and I'll see you (well, maybe not SEE you, but...you know what I mean) next week for Throwback Thursday!

Paris, Why Banana_elephant Needs to Go

Hi guys, as you may know, I really like Paris. Like, the only thing between us is an ocean. And some land. Well, you know what I mean (figuratively).
I just finished the last book in Stephanie Perkins's series, and it's become pretty clear to me I won't be absolutely content until I've gone to Paris. So here are my reasons that I need to get there someday.
For one, it's freaking Paris. You know, the City of Light, the most romantic city in the world, the city that houses Notre Dame? I'd give so much just to be there, to really see it with my eyes. I bet it'll be the most beautiful thing I will ever see in my entire life.
Then there's the book reason. My favorite book series (and book) takes place there. It would be so great to walk to streets of Paris like Anna and her friends did, to experience some of the cities wonders as they did. To stand on Point Zero and see Anna and Etienne standing there in that ghostly way. I'd make the same wish Anna did as I stand there in the center of France, for what is best for me. I'd feel the feels, cry the tears, and then walk away from my two best friends for the last time. It'd be my way of giving my dear Anna and St. Clair the proper farewell. Sure, I'll still read their stories over and over again, countless times, but I'd feel better after doing it (okay, I'll be sad as heck, but seriously).
French desserts are always better in France. My mum makes some pretty mean French pastries, but there are no French things better than pastries in Paris (I'm pretty sure). It's just my biased opinion.
I'd like to see Notre Dame in all it's glory. I've seen pictures and holy Hera. It just looks... huge. Giant. Beautiful. There's nothing that could possibly look that amazing on the Internet (but wait, it does) let alone in real life (oh wait, I've heard it looks better than possible).
I'd really like to see a movie in Paris, just like Anna did in the first book (feeling the feels here). Seriously though, I just feel like even that would be a more beautiful experience, something as simple as that. I'd hunt down a theater that gives me some good vibes, and I'd sit and watch a movie. Period. End of that story.
I guess that French comic book stores are pretty fantastic, so I'd like to see one of those. I've only ever been into one comic book store in my life and wasn't exactly impressed. If I were walking and saw one, I'd most defiantly take a peek inside.
Sorry about the short post (dear me, I say that a lot) but school is starting soon. I'm excited and nervous and have a lot on my mind, trying to finish the first part of my novel and all before this year starts (yeah, I'm calling it a novel now peeps. No, it won't be published anytime soon or up for reads). It's also that I don't know much about traveling, due to not doing it much. True, during this time I could have talked about the Great Snake Hunt that some of the neighbor kids took part in quite a few years ago (it was my brother, me, and four other neighborhood kids), but I didn't. It just didn't seem like to time to talk about any of the adventures we had during my childhood. Anyways, I'll see you guys next week for Whatever Wednesday.
Wow, I can't believe August is almost over.

Hey guys CHUCKLES here. Today I will be doing my top five favorite songs of the Summer. What I will be doing is listing them off, telling you why I like them, and giving you a link to them. Here we go.

1. All About That Bass By: Meghan Trainor
I just really like this song and so does my mom. The beat is fun and the lyrics actually make sense.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PCkvCPvDXk

2. Fancy By: Iggy Azalea
I honestly don't know why I like this song I just do. Except for the swearing I don't like that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-zpOMYRi0w

3. Boom Clap By: Charli XCX
One day I heard this on the radio and really liked it. I had read The Fault in Our stars but hadn't seen the movie yet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOPMlIIg_38
4. Problem By: Ariana Grande, ft. Iggy Azalea
Okay, every time I sing along with this song when Iggy says I got 99 problems but you won't be one, I always say: I got 99 problems but a snitch ain't one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS1g8G_njx8

5. On Top of the World By: Imagine Dragons
I know this wasn't released this summer but it became a hit this summer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5tWYmIOWGk&list=RDw5tWYmIOWGk

So guys I know this is pretty short but I was having really bad bloggers block. This is my last post for the summer. See ya.

Whatever Wednesday with not_luna_lovegood #3

Hi, it's me, not_luna_lovegood, and I'm SO SO SO SO SO sorry this is late. I got in trouble with my parents for reasons I'm not going to get into, but I got my Internet privileges taken away. I let the Brick Wall down, and I'm really, sincerely sorry about this being late. I know it isn't Wednesday, but I'm going to do Whatever Wednesday today.

I'm going to be talking about a topic that isn't as happy and light-hearted as my previous two, but I'd say it's much more important than candy and 50 facts about myself. I'm going to talk about bullying, since I feel the need to talk about it.

With the new school year coming (if it hasn't arrived already), I know there will be a lot of bullying going on. I'm going to talk about what you can do to help stop bullying, because all of us at the Brick Wall are against bullying.

If you're getting bullied: You have my sympathy! Nobody deserves to be bullied. To help stop bullying, my advice is to speak up and firmly tell the bully to stop. If that doesn't work, tell an adult you trust, like a parent, teacher, or guidance counselor what's going on and they can help. The one thing you shouldn't do, however, is be mean back. Yeah, they probably deserve it, but if you're mean back, they'll continue bullying you.

If you're a bystander (person who watches while the bullying happens) : Speak up for yourself! Firmly tell the bully to stop or tell an adult you trust. Simple as that!

If you're bullying people: Stop. Just stop it. If you're bullying because your friends are telling you to and you feel pressure, stand up for yourself and tell your friends that you don't want to hurt people's feelings. They aren't true friends if they're making you bully people! But if you are bullying because you want to, just find something better to do. There is nothing fun about hurting people's feelings!

I know this wasn't that positive, but it's an important issue I need to acknowledge. And again, I'm sorry about this being late. I will be back next Wednesday!

Fandom Friday with Quidditch_Turtle #2

Hello everyone, Quidditch_Turtle here! Like I said in my last post, I thought about some more books to put on my Book Bucket List, so this week I will be doing a follow-up post. I hope you don't mind that I'm doing the same exact thing as last week.

7. The Giver by: Lois Lowry

My Language Arts teacher had told our class this past year that it was a really good read, but I never really thought much of it- until I saw the movie trailer. It seems like a science fiction-dystopian- type novel, and it really caught my attention.

8. Wonder by: R.J. Palacio

I don't really know much about this one, other than there is this kid with an "un-normal" face or something. I've heard that it's a pretty good one, so I think I'll check it out someday.

9. If I Stay series (If I Stay, Where She Went) by: Gayle Forman

I saw the movie trailer for this book and wanted to see the movie, and then I found out it was a book series, so I put it on my Book Bucket List. It's about this girl who goes into a coma as a result of a car accident.

The first two books shown are the same books, just different covers.

10. Percy Jackson series by: Rick Riordan

I had thought about reading this series a while ago, but now I'm not really sure, so I don't know if I will be reading this one anytime soon (sorry, Banana_elephant and not_luna_lovegood). I don't think I'm a fan of all that mythology stuff.

11. Artemis Fowl series by: Eoin Colfer

This is another one where I'm not sure about. Somewhere in the future, I'll have nothing to read, so I'll end up reading this one and the last.

12. The Westing Game by: Ellen Raskin

This book is a murder mystery, but I'm pretty sure it's appropriate for people my age. I've always been interested in TV shows like that as well, cuz stuff like that just doesn't bother me (disturb me, give me nightmares, etc.).

13. Charlie St. Cloud by: Ben Sherwood

I read a summary of this book and it is about a kid (Charlie) who can talk to his dead younger brother who died in a car accident. Then Charlie meets a spirit girl and he has to choose between life and death. This book was also made into a movie (as you can see on the cover of the book).

14. Homefront by: Doris Gwaltney

This book, along with some of the others on my previous Book Bucket List post, is also about WWII. This girl's English cousin comes to stay with her family as the war moves through Europe. Can you tell that I like Historical Fictions?

15. In a Heartbeat by: Loretta Ellsworth

My sister read this book and recommended it to me. It's about this girl who loses her heart and her best friend in an accident, and she receives her friend's heart.

 16. Ways to Live Forever by: Sally Nicholls

My sister read this book as well, and she said it was good, although she can't remember what it's about. I recall her telling me once that it is about this kid who gets cancer, but I don't know the details.

I hope to see you all next week for some more Fandom Friday action with Quidditch_Turtle! Hasta Luego (See you later)!

Fantasic Fantasy Ways of Worldly Travel!

Sorry, I just had to LOL. Being Banana_elephant and all, I just had to.
Okay, so there are actual ways to travel. You know, like walking, running, by car, by train, etc. What really fascinates me are the fantasy ways of travel. I'll give you a list of some of my favorites.

This is probably my favorite way of fantasy traveling, seeing how it's also from my favorite sub-genre of science fiction. Airships are fantastic to look at (um, of course) but in Steampunk, they're pretty useful. Okay, if Steampunk airships were ever made, I'd just want to fly around in one and pretend it's the Victorian era.

This one is pretty cool too. Flying carpets. We all know the magical flying carpet from Aladdin, but just think how cool (or uncool) that would be to have one. Just think, having one in front of the door would be really nice to just hop onto and open the door. Although, it would be kind of inconvenient if you didn't realize you'd bought a magic carpet and then angered it by using it to wipe you feet...

Of course I can't forget dragons! Imagine having a pet dragon and being able to fly around on it all day (okay, not all day but...) and making it breath fire on everything. Okay, maybe not the fire part due to safety issues but dragons are pretty darn cool looking.

Another cool one are Pegasus (pegasi, pegasuses... what the heck is the plural...). Riding around on a flying horse would be pretty boss if I do say so myself. As long as they don't hit you in the head as they fly past, you should be completely fine.

I think we'd go all Percy Jackson if we had flying shoes, you know? It'd be nice to get out of traffic jams, go around people that are walking way too slow, easy way to get to Paris, and many more pluses, you know?

You know, now that I think about it, it's probably a good thing these things don't actually exist (well, as far as we know). There's a reason why fiction is so dangerous.

Sorry if this post was boring, I've been having trouble thinking of things to post. Hopefully next week I'll have something a bit more interesting to talk about. Banana_elephant out!

Monday, August 18, 2014

Hey guys, CHUCKLES here, once again I am sorry that this is a little late in the day. I had to clean my hermit crab cage which usually takes me an hour. So anyways today my subject is Native American flute music. As some of you guys know I play the Native American flute and so does my dad. My dad and I did take flute lessons once but really to learn to play you don't need lessons. I have in fact been playing for about three years now.

So you guys wanna know what my flute looks like well I found a picture of a flute almost exact to mine and my dads. Here it is.

This next one is for Qudditch_Turtle.

And here are some that I thought were just utterly beautiful.

So as you can see flutes are beautiful. So on to the music part of it. My favorite flute music artist is Dennis Hawk. He is an awesome flute player with several CDs out for sale. Unfortunately I don't have any : (.

Flute Music has literally been around forever. It was one of the first musical instruments. It has been made of many different types of wood and bone. Therefore is not the most tasty instrument to play. Here are some flute music examples.

Unfortunately in this one there are other instruments in the background. By the way this is Dennis Hawk.

This is Billy Whitefox

this is Thomas Walker

So guys this is all for today see you next week I hope you enjoyed it.

I AM SSSSOOOOO SORRY!!!!!!!!! (Also known as Fandom Friday #1 By Quidditch_Turtle)

Hey guys, I just want to start out this post by apologizing for all of the posts I have missed these last few weeks. I feel really bad about it, and I hope everyone can forgive me!

First of all, I have absolutely NO idea what I'm going to post- Oh wait, I know!

So I just finished the last book of the Hunger Games series (Mockingjay), and as soon as the school year starts, I will be reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, because that is the last book in the series and I haven't read it yet. But then I thought, what am I going to read after that, cuz I have been reading Harry Potter since 4th grade! So this week, I will be posting a list of the series on my "Book Bucket List." (I just made that up, like, right now :) By the way, if you didn't know what a bucket list is, it is a list of things you want to do or places you want to go before you die.

1. The Divergent trilogy (Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant) by: Veronica Roth

My mom saw the movie and said that it's pretty similar to The Hunger Games, and that I would like it. I saw the movie trailer, and it seemed like a pretty good one, so therefore, it appears on my Book Bucket List.

2. The Hobbit/ Lord of the Rings by: J.R.R Tolkien

Again, my mom has the three LOTR movies, and she read the Hobbit. She also says she may have read the LOTR series as well, but she can't remember. I don't really understand how you don't know if you read the book or not, but whatever. Anyway, my cousin Lexie also read it for school, and let me tell ya, she is not into that kind of stuff AT ALL. But after she was about half way through it, she said she actually liked it a lot!

3. Between Shades of Gray by: Ruta Sepetys

I know what your thinking. This book has NOTHING to do with Fifty Shades of Gray. Aside from that, my cousin Lexie started reading this book as well and recommended it to me. It's about a Jewish girl that got sent to a Death Camp during WWII, I think. Something along those lines.

4. The Book Thief by: Markus Zusak

Banana_elephant read this book and my sister did, too. They both said it was really good, right Banana_elephant? Again, it is about the Nazis and Germany and Jews and WWII and... I don't really know much about the storyline... But surprisingly, my mom started reading it and stopped because "It wasn't her type."

5. A Series of Unfortunate Events by: Lemony Snicket (maybe)

I considered reading this series in 4th grade around the time I started Harry Potter, but I'm the type of person that doesn't like to be reading two things at once, so maybe in the future I'll start it (If I'm not in the process of reading another series).

6. The Fault in Our Stars by: John Green (And Banana_elephant is probably freaking out right about now...)

Please don't tell me anymore about this book, I've heard PLENTY from Banana_elephant and the many others who are obsessed... I guess I just decided to read it in the future to see if it really is everything that everyone is blabbing about.

I also want to say that for the books like The Book Thief and The Hobbit/LOTR, there are many different covers for it, I just chose the most popular ones when I searched them. That's all I can think of for now, maybe if I think of any more I will do a follow-up post about the same thing. See you next week!  ~Quidditch_Turtle

Banana_elephant's Top 5 Things About Travelling

Seeing how I haven't traveled since last week or can think of anything to talk about, I thought of a solution. There are some things that I just really like about traveling, and I will tell you about them below.

1.) The Sense of Adventure
Because of how much I read, and seeing how most of the stuff I read is Science Fiction, I naturally how a sense of adventure. The unknown excites me most of the time (unknown waters scares the pants off of me), and I really like to discover stuff. I wish that I could be Indiana Jones for a living, if you know what I mean (no, I'm not saying that I'm Harrison Ford).

2.) Foreign Languages
No, I have never been out of the country. That doesn't mean I can't love different languages (it's still part of traveling after all). Some of my favorite languages to listen to someone speak are French and Italian (next to English of course). Sure, it bothers me sometimes when I don't understand what people are saying (due to my need to know everything), but it just sounds so beautiful. In fact, today I started learning Italian, and am getting the hang of it quickly.

3.) Scenery
Oh goodness, not far where I live are these gorgeous hills. There's this highway that you go over, and it's just so beautiful all the time. In the summer it's just sooooooo green, it drives me crazy! In the winter it looks like Narnia before the great thawing thing or whatever (it's been a long time since I've read the books or seen the movies). During the fall it looks like a giant war occurred in the skies. Strangely, during the spring, it looks like something apocalyptic. Trust me, it's beautiful.

4.) The Car Rides
For some reason, I love long car rides where I don't have to do a thing. I can get in a little bit of sleep and read a little bit, but most of the time is spent listening to music. It's just great to have your ear buds in and the music up high, almost like you're alone in your own universe.

5.) Meeting New People
For my swim meets, I have to travel a lot. Like a LOT, a lot. Most of the time I meet someone that is in the same event as me (swimming the same stroke and the same distance, also your same age group and gender, if you didn't know). Actually, I met someone last year at a meet, and now we're pretty close friends. I see her at a few meets a year, and we both freak out whenever we see each other. The last time I saw her we were actually in the same event, the 100 fly.

I hope you enjoyed this week's post. Honestly, I've been having lots and lots of writer's block lately, including from the novel I am trying to write (ergh). Anyways, see you guys next week!

Monday, August 11, 2014

Hey guys, CHUCKLES here. Sorry that it is a little late in the day for me to be posting this it's just because I was at my cabin. So I will be doing a review on Phillip Phillips' album The World From the Side of  the Moon. So here we go.

  1. Man on the Moon
I honestly don't think this song is super good or super bad It's kind of in the middle. But I do like the message: Make the most of life. 4 stars

2. Home

This is the song that made Phillip Phillips famous. I like how this song makes you feel happy. And, hello, you can actually understand the words! 5 stars

3. Gone, Gone, Gone

I think the message to this song is a very good message: I will always love you no matter what. And this song is one of my favorite songs. 5 stars

4. Hold On

I am not really sure what I think of this song. And usually I can pick a message out in a song but I can't for this one. 3 stars

5. Tell Me a Story

I really like this song, but according to the general public it isn't very good because you never hear it on the radio. 4 stars

6. Get Up Get Down

I also really like this song because it is so fast and fun! (And it is an awesome dancing song.) 5 stars

7. Where We Came From

I like this song because how it kind of reminds me of a journey back to home. 5 stars

8. Drive me

Lets just say I sing this song to my self all the time... and I dance to it. (I love it ;D) 5 stars

9. Wanted Is Love

Honestly this song just makes me sad. It is like happy and fun songs then... BAM! This Song. 2 stars

10. Can't Go Wrong

Okay this song is much better than the last one. But it still isn't a favorite of mine I don't know why but it isn't. 3 stars

11. A Fool's Dance

I think this song is about betrayal and giving up but that doesn't make me not like it. 4 stars

12. So Easy

This song is fun to sing to and all but sometimes it  is kind of boring and sad. 4 stars

So guys tell me what you think of Phillip Phillips' songs in the comments. See you guys next week!

Whatever Wednesday with not_luna_lovegood #1

Welcome to Whatever Wednesday! I'm not_luna_lovegood and I will be doing Whatever Wednesday for the month of August! I'm very excited to do this even though I don't have that many good ideas for this segment! Today I'm going to talk about something I know just about everyone likes: CANDY!!!!!!!!! How this is going to work is I am going to ask my brother to name five random types of candy and then I am going to give my thoughts on those candies and say my favorite flavor (if there are different flavors).

Candy #1: Skittles

Skittles

I'm not the biggest fan of Skittles, since I don't like fruity candy that much, but Skittles are okay. I don't like the sour kind, though.
Favorite flavor: Grape

Candy #2: Toffee

Toffee

I like toffee. It reminds me of one of my favorite desserts my mom makes, a chocolate cake with Diet Coke as a secret ingredient (not so secret now, isn't it?) because there are Heath bar pieces on the top. Toffee isn't one of my absolute favorites, but I do like it every once in a while.
Favorite flavor: N/A

Candy #3: Jelly Belly Jelly Beans

Left, Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. Right, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans

I LOVE THIS CANDY! I could probably eat my weight in Jelly Bellys. It's definitely my favorite fruit candy, even though only one of my absolute favorite flavors is fruit-related. Also, they make Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans from the Harry Potter series, which I really want to try since as you already know, I'm a hardcore Harry Potter fan.
Favorite flavors: Chocolate Pudding, French Vanilla, Toasted Marshmallow, and Strawberry Cheesecake.

Candy #4: Snickers

Snickers Peanut Butter Squared

Snickers is hands-down one of the best candies I've ever had. I love a good chocolate/peanut butter/nut candy, and like they say in the commercials, Snickers satisfies! They also have hilarious commercials:

This commercial always makes me laugh. The best part: "My back hurts! (gets whacked in the gut by a log) Now my front hurts!"

Favorite flavor: Not really a flavor, but my favorite variety of Snickers are the Peanut Butter Squares, which I like better than the original.

Candy #5: Butterfinger

Another one of my all-time favorite candies. I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, because any candy with chocolate and peanut butter is a good candy in my book. It's just so good!

Favorite flavor: N/A

What's your favorite candy? Feel free to say what it is in the comments below! I'm not_luna_lovegood, and I will see you (well, maybe not see you, but you know what I mean) next Wednesday!
