My Top Ten Favorite Movies By: not_luna_lovegood

Pretty much everybody loves a good movie, and if you don't, I am seriously judging you. However, everybody has their favorites, and that brings us to today's topic. I'm not_luna_lovegood, and today I will be sharing my top ten favorite movies! I am not saying these are the BEST movies (there is a difference between BEST and FAVORITE), these are just the movies I like the most. These are my opinions, so it's okay if you agree or disagree. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Feel free to share your favorite movies with me in the comments! Also, all pictures and summaries come from imdb.com, which I feel necessary to put so I don't get sued, LOL.

10. The Lego Movie
 The Lego Movie (2014) Poster

What it's about: "An ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be the prophesied 'Special', is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis."
Why do I like it?: I love this movie because it's unique and hilarious. At first I didn't really want to see it, but when I did, it ended up being one of my favorites. The characters, voice acting, plot, and animation are all fantastic. Also, I love the song "Everything Is Awesome", which is in the movie. It's just so happy and catchy! Overall, this is a great movie to watch with your family and the first of many animated movies to make my list.

9. Wreck-It Ralph
Wreck-It Ralph (2012) Poster
What's it about:  "A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives."
Why do I like it?: I love this movie so much because it's such a creative idea. I also love how the viewer learns a valuable lesson, which is to be yourself. The animation is bright and fun, the characters and voice acting are awesome, and as I said before, the plot is fantastic. This movie is also funny yet touching and I highly recommend it!

8. The Lion King
 The Lion King (1994) Poster
What's it about: "Lion cub and future king Simba tests his limits, supported by his family, but sometimes gets in over his head."
Why do I like it?: Many people consider this to be the greatest Disney movie ever, and I definitely see where they're coming from. The plot, voice acting, characters, and animation are done very well. The songs are all brilliant, from "Circle of Life", the iconic opening scene, to the outstandingly catchy "Hakuna Matata" to the romantic "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" Also, this movie has what I (as well as many people) consider to be one of the most heartbreaking Disney moments (which I will not spoil in case you've never seen it). If you haven't seen this movie, you really should!

7. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) Poster
What's it about: "Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem."
Why do I like it?: This movie is based off of my favorite book in one of my favorite series. The first movie was good, but Catching Fire is better. The movie does a pretty good job of bringing the book to life, with awesome visuals and great acting (gotta love Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss!). The movie is, for the most part, pretty accurate to the book. I recommend watching this movie if you have read the book or seen the first Hunger Games movie. Also, the movie is PG-13, so I recommend it only if you think you're mature enough.

6. Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast (1991) Poster
What it's about: "Belle, whose father is imprisoned by the Beast, offers herself instead and discovers her captor to be an enchanted prince."
Why do I like it?: Yet another Disney movie to make my list, mostly because of nostalgia! This is probably the defining movie of my childhood, as Belle was always my favorite Disney princess. Besides having lots of sentimental value to me, it's also a pretty great movie. The animation is gorgeous, the cast of characters is wonderful, and the plot is beautiful (no pun intended). The soundtrack is also full of beloved songs, my favorite being "Belle", which is the opening song. Like in Wreck-It Ralph, you learn a valuable lesson, which is to never judge a book by its cover. This movie is an all-time classic, and definitely a must-see if you're going to call yourself a Disney fan!

5. Despicable Me 2
 Despicable Me 2 (2013) Poster
What's it about: "When Gru, the world's most super-bad turned super-dad has been recruited by a team of officials to stop lethal muscle and a host of Gru's own, He has to fight back with new gadgetry, cars, and more minion madness."
Why do I like it?: One word: MINIONS. The minions are, in my opinion, the cutest little guys to ever grace the silver screen. They make me smile any day and I am so excited for them to get their own movie (It's called MINIONS and it's coming out later this year). Aside from the minions, this movie is awesome! It's got some great characters, who are brought to life with excellent voice acting. The animation is quirky and the plot is fun and hilarious. If you're looking for a funny movie to watch with your family, look no further!

4. Monsters, Inc.
 Monsters, Inc. (2001) Poster
What's it about: "Monsters generate their city's power by scaring children, but they are terribly afraid themselves of being contaminated by children, so when one enters Monstropolis, top scarer Sulley finds his world disrupted."
Why do I like it?: First of all, I am only talking about the first movie, not Monsters University. Monsters University was good, but I like this movie better. The movie is funny yet touching, has great animation, and awesome characters who are brought to life with wonderful voice acting. I highly recommend this movie.

3. Tangled
 Tangled (2010) Poster
What's it about: "The magically long-haired Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but now that a runaway thief has stumbled upon her, she is about to discover the world for the first time, and who she really is."
Why do I like it?: This is my favorite Disney movie. I love the characters because they're all likable. Rapunzel isn't your typical damsel in distress, which I love about her. Flynn Rider is by far my favorite Disney prince because he has a unique personality and is pretty hilarious (also, he's like the hottest animated character ever, but that's another story). The animation is stunning and the plot is a fresh twist on the beloved story of Rapunzel. The movie is also pretty funny and has a beautiful soundtrack. "I See The Light" is one of my all-time favorite Disney songs! I recommend this movie to everybody, even if you don't think you'd like it.

2. Finding Nemo
 Finding Nemo (2003) Poster
What's it about: "After his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home."
Why do I like it?: I know I've said this is my favorite movie ever, but it's not anymore. It still is one of my favorites, however. The characters are fantastic, my favorite being Dory (mainly because Ellen DeGeneres is hilarious and the perfect voice for her). I also love the plot because it's really heartwarming yet hilarious. The animation is beyond gorgeous. Overall, this movie is one of my favorite movies from my childhood, and one of my favorite movies in general. Also, I definitely want to see the sequel, Finding Dory, which will come out later this year.

And my number one favorite movie as of right now is (drumroll please...)

1. Pitch Perfect
 Pitch Perfect (2012) Poster
What's it about: "Beca, a freshman at Barden University, is cajoled into joining The Bellas, her school's all-girls singing group. Injecting some much needed energy into their repertoire, The Bellas take on their male rivals in a campus competition."
Why do I like it?: This is my favorite movie for a lot of reasons. First of all, it has music in it, and as you know, music is my passion. Second, it is absolutely HILARIOUS! The cast and characters are all hilarious, especially Fat Amy, who is played by Rebel Wilson. Lastly, I love this movie because the plot and writing is awesome in my opinion. I'm really excited for Pitch Perfect 2, which comes out on May 15 of this year. I'm hoping that my mom (who also loves this movie) will take me to see the sequel!

So those are my top ten favorite movies! Agree? Disagree? Tell me in the comments below! My next post will either be "You Know You're A Fangirl/Fanboy When..." or something about pop songs with good messages, so keep on the lookout. I'm not_luna_lovegood, signing out!

Doglover's favorite 5 songs of January

Hi this is Dog-lover and I am here to share my favorite 5 songs of January.  Just a FYI, I am doing this sometime in the last week of every month.  Sometimes it may be the same, but mostly, it will change.  These 5 songs I am about to list I have heard on the radio, Pandora, or from other places.

Here we go:

5. Ariana Grande- Love Me Harder

This song is by Ariana Grande, who was on 2 of my favorite shows, which I will do sometime in February.  She launched her career recently (maybe 2014 or 2013, or 2012) I do not know.  I feel this is a really upbeat song, and it has nice tone and quality.

4. Alesso (ft. Tove Lo)- Heroes (We Could Be)

This song started in the late months of last year.  When I first heard it, I did not know what to expect of this song, but after 2-5 months of hearing it, I realized I love it.  It is pretty and Alesso does some pretty cool DJ-ing in that song.

3. Vance Joy- Riptide

This song was released in 2013.  It has a pretty tone and is fun to listen to.  My favorite part is where he goes OOOOO-OOOOO-OOOOOO in different tones right before he says "running down to the riptide"

2. Ariana Grande (ft. Zedd)- Break Free

This was originally my favorite song until one other song took over.  Which is why I leave it at #2.  It has cool music in the background and I still love it like I did months ago.

AND FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! #1!!!!!

1. Ella Henderson- Ghost

I first thought this song was an OK song, but after a couple of months, I realized this song is AWESOME!!!!!  Ella Henderson is only 19 years old, but she has quite a voice.

Well, those are my top 5 songs for January 2015, catch this kind of post next month in the last week.  See you later!

Dog-lover's Favorite Books

Hi everyone, this is Dog-lover, and I am here to tell my top 5 favorite books (or series)

(oh and I do not have the same taste as some of the others, I am more into funny books.)

5. Middle School Series

The Middle School series by James Patterson follows a middle schooler named Rafe Katchadorian (yes, that is his name)  it follows in what appears to be the "worst" years of his life.  The third one listed (MY BROTHER IS A BIG FAT LIAR) is written by his sister Georgia.  There is a new one out that released in summer of 2013 that I want to read.  It is called "How I Survived Bullies, Broccoli, and Snake Hill.  That one looks good.

4. Junie B. Jones (BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, HEAR ME OUT!)
No, I am not 7 or 8.  I read these when I was littler and I loved them.  There is 27 books (maybe 28) in the series, it was written by Barbara Park (1947-2013).  Books 1-17 are when she was in kindergarten, starting book 18 (Junie B. First Grader AT LAST!) she is in first grade. I recommend this series to anyone younger like in kindergarten and first grade (like I said I do not read these anymore)

3. Hunger Games Trilogy

Hunger Games is an outstanding series SO FAR! (I am still reading Catching Fire, so no spoilers please!  That goes for Mockingjay too) It was written by Suzanne Collins (1962- ).  It follows Katniss Everdeen and her family, this takes place in the future so everything is all weird.

2. Sideways Stories from Wayside School & My Weird School
Image result for louis sachar sideways stories from wayside school

This book is about a school that instead of being built on 1 floor, it is on 30 floors, and tipped sideways!!!!!!  There is a person for each chapter, read this to see how the people there are strange.

My Weird School is written by Dan Gutman, it features AJ and his friends Ryan and Michael.  It also includes his enemy Andrea, and her friend Emily, who is kind of a wuss.  Every book, there is a strange teacher talked about.  There is the My Weird School series, the My Weird School Daze, and My Weirder School.

1!!!!!!! (drum roll please) DIARY OF A WIMPY KID

This is about Greg Heffley and his family, Rodrick, his older brother who is constantly picking on him, Manny, his younger brother, who is a spoiled brat.  Mom, who can get annoying at times, and then there is Dad, nothing much about him.  His friend, Rowley Jefferson, who is kind of a little kid in some ways, and Fregley, who is just gross.

I hope you enjoyed my 5 favorite books and series.  I will see you next week where I go through my favorite songs of January!

News...I guess

Hey, it's not_luna_lovegood, and I just want to clarify something. We are not doing the "days" thing until June. What I mean is that we're not going to post all our music stuff on Monday, travel stuff on Tuesday, and all that. We will sort our posts out by topic as per usual, but they won't be on the same day. For example, my next post is a Throwback I found from within the Drafts section. However, it's Tuesday. Even though it's Tuesday, the post will still go under Throwback Thursday. I'm posting  will go back to the old "days" format in June, when we are out of school and have more time to post. There is one difference, though: We will switch topics every two weeks to get more of a variety. If any other news comes along, either myself or another Brick Wall host will let you know!

Hi, everyone! This Is Dog-lover!!

Hi everyone!  Happy new year! This isn't much of a fandom but my name on here is dog-lover and I am the new member of the blog!  You probably saw not_luna_lovegood mention me in the last post.  So for my first post, I am just going to tell you guys about myself:

1. I love dogs- (Hence--my username)  I just think they're so cute and fun to play with.  I have a dog myself, actually.

2. I love math- I know when I say that you'd think I am not ordinary (I'm not) This love for math started when I was little when I was OBSESSED with numbers, that love for numbers continues to this very day!

3. I like technology and other gadgets- I, in my opinion, think I am very good with technology.  If someone has a problem on a computer or some tech thing, there is a 75% chance I might figure it out. Speaking of which, I especially love iPads, iPods, computers, and all that stuff.

4. I am a big fan of music- Music is maybe one of my favorite things to do or listen, or it is a close second (next to family and dogs).  I love a lot of genres, my top 3 list would be: 3) Country 2) Rock 1) Pop.  Also, I play a clarinet in band class.

5. I really like studying weather- I don't know when I started liking weather and all that stuff, but I find it really fascinating and interesting, especially learning about big storms like tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.

6. I like TV- I know this isn't really a thing about me, but I thought I would just throw in that I love TV.

7. I make mistakes- I am one of those people who keeps on making mistakes left and right, I also am very forgetful.

8. Like everyone else here, I will not say ANYTHING about my personal life as I do not feel comfortable talking about it with random viewers, so I do not want to be asked (sorry, I sounded bossy there)  That is dog-lover in a nutshell.  I am really looking forward to be posting on The Brick Wall for 2015 and until further notice!  That is it!
